From Navelgas to Oviedo.

“I am from Navelgas (Tineo), in the southwest of Asturias, and that marks a character, and I feel terribly proud of it. I have two children: Marco, 13 years old, and Celia, 12, who are delighted to have a town as a reference. For them it is important and for me too. I consider it essential to always keep in mind your roots. I have great memories of my childhood in the town and I want them to have them too. It was a very hard blow. My children were still very young. It was hard for me to come back, but I didn’t want to learn the most from hard times and crises. that my children remembered me sad. She always accompanies me. I did something magical which was to bring out all those things that my mother had, who was very generous and kind. I have tried to learn from that to improve and that gives me terrible strength.

His father’s first tree.

“My father, Santos Bravo, is an idol for me. He is from Francos (Tineo). He made Madreñas. He met my mother selling at a fair in Tineo. They started from scratch. With the first money he had he bought a tree and then more. Then a mountain, until I became a great woodworker and builder. I always say that I live in a forest. My father is one of the trees of my life, the other is my husband, Marco Macía, my great support. Of course, my children. We are lucky to continue growing together in the same direction. He is a cultured and brilliant man who gives me security and balance, an honorable father and someone who always gives me wings to develop my projects. “He is very cautious. What I read in his eyes is ‘Marta, you can do it’, it is the most important thing I have.”

The Immaculate Conception and the Jesuits.

“I went to the Inmaculada school in Pumarín and then to the Jesuits. One day I had an exam and I wasn’t sure at all. My father calmed me down. He is a very constant and persevering man, that fuels talent. I have a memory of the nuns They taught me values, to share and to have generosity. I keep my best friends from the Jesuits and I remember the love I gained for languages. They organized summer courses abroad and that helped me a lot. things. You also learn to relate to people from different backgrounds. I try to treat people with a lot of love and give everyone a smile.

Teaching with English and hotel vocation.

“I did a Teaching degree with a specialty in English Philology. Although I have never worked as a teacher, I still believe that education is fundamental. Gloria López Téllez was my English Literature teacher. I went with an Erasmus scholarship to Glasgow and there I grew a lot as a person. Oviedo It is wonderful, but knowing other people and other places awakens creativity. On September 15, 1997, we opened the family hotel that I manage. I prepared myself with thousands of courses on protocol and other issues. I am passionate about training and staying up to date. What I wanted in addition to having a beautiful hotel was that it had personality and soul. For that, I pamper the external clients and the staff that are with me. Sometimes I only hire women. I think we are much more versatile. I have eight on staff and I am delighted. I prefer that people arrive without specific training to give it to them. If the client or someone asks you for the Moon, at least you have to lay the ladder to try to take it. I love helping others bring their talents to light.
